Gerhardt Braun Gallery is pleased to present the new exhibition of German artist Noah Becker in its Madrid space. "My first word was ball" is an exploration of the artist's personal experiences, development and emotions. Noah’s unique perspective on life comes from experiencing a range of criticism and praise, often for things he had no control of. He used the criticism as fuel, transforming it into motivation as he wrote down the negative words with white paint while playing tennis against the wall. This ritual is one of his earliest childhood memories. As a young boy, Noah spoke very little and his first word was “ball.” The works in this new exhibition combine these early memories with personal reflections, also related to sport. "Every day is a match point, and as Nelson Mandela said: «Sport has the power to change the world».
