FRAGILE MANIPULATIONEN

Gerhardt Braun Gallery is pleased to invite you to the opening of Lars Teichmann's exhibition “FRAGILE MANIPULATIONEN”, which brings together works that explore two perspectives: what the painting aims to convey and how the viewer interprets it. Teichmann is a master of color and charm, seeking to “bring to life” the pictorial material. In his still lifes, chromatic intensity transforms surfaces into vibrant objects. Different is the case of the figurative works, which refer to Asian or European art history, to periods such as the Baroque or the Renaissance. If one allows oneself to be carried away by the paintings, our thoughts wander almost of their own accord toward profound narratives. Our mind needs to situate these experiences in a time and place. Landscapes become visible, figures begin to act. Let us listen to the whisper of the sirens in the painting! Let us allow ourselves to be guided, let us allow Teichmann's “fragile manipulations” to seduce us.
