RESILIENCE

Gerhardt Braun Gallery is pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition “RESILIENCE” by Francesca Martí. This solo exhibition traces the evolution of Martí’s most recent work. Her innovative installations combine painting and photography, as well as charcoal drawings and the occasional collage of her small “Dreamers and Believers,” which add touches of humanity to a wide range of environments. The work that gives the exhibition its title is the large-scale video installation “Resilience,” created in collaboration with Rohan Marley. This video is the result of a chance encounter between Martí and Marley in New York, followed by a deep friendship and reflection on how the loss of their fathers at the age of 9, has shaped their own philosophy. The performance filmed in Mallorca, addresses themes such as heritage, empathy, shared thoughts and emotions, and the transmission of legacy. The exhibition explores the relationship between human beings, nature, and the contemporary urban environment, creating a visual language that connects history, memory, and sensory experience.
