Why do we dream?
For some experts, dreams have an emotional sense, are used to
process with affective conflicts that we have dealt with or to face
the fears and even cope with real-life situations . While we sleep,
the areas of the brain related to the usual logic are practically disa-
bled which would lead us to explore the new and alternative routes
to solve problems.
For me the dream is the moment of reflection, the time to observe.
The dream is an unexplored path, a fantasy.
Bruno Munari tells us:
“The fantasy, invention and creativity think, the imagination sees“
Then how can we delve into that imagination? In my case it’s during
the sleep. For me dreams are realities, possible future actions yet
to be determined.
Fantasy is born of freedom. Invention and creativity are born
instead of function and need. When it comes to generating new
worlds, in all of them intelligence, memory and imagination play a
crucial role. I believe therefore that the answers of the immediate
future are within our dreams where we learn and observe what we
really crave.
My work is full of questions, just like my dreams are not finished
phrases, but unresolved questions. Questions that are solved in my
pictures, where senses and emotions are embodied.
